About Us
Bilingual Kids, located in Browns Bay, Auckland, is run by Silke Schäffer (BEd, BA, DipArts), an experienced, New Zealand trained, German native speaking Primary School Teacher and mother of 5 bilingual children, who has been teaching since the year 2000.
Our variety of classes focus on giving each child the opportunity to develop their German language skills.
This German language extension programme aims to encourage (as stated in the New Zealand curriculum framework) the opportunity for bilingual children to develop and use their other language (here: German) as an integral part of their primary schooling, in order to increase their sense of German / New Zealand identity.
